The Internet’s Biggest Debates, Settled

Just as it sounds!! Today I’m giving my final thoughts on the internet’s most controversial questions!

#1 Best way to cook a steak; rare, medium, or well?

“Well” is just too tough. My personal opinion is medium-rare because you get all those meaty juices, but if you’re trying steak for the first time you can’t go wrong with medium.

#2 If you stack a lasagna on top of another lasagna, how many are there; one or two?

Garfield fans out there, this one’s for you; THERE’S ONLY ONE LASAGNA!Although technically speaking, if the unit “one” has already been established, it’s only natural to say there are two. But being an optimist, I only see one. Rest of the world: 36% one, 64% two

#3 If tomatoes are fruit, is ketchup a smoothie?

The question poses it as “IF tomatoes are a fruit”...botanically speaking, they ARE a fruit; they are seed-bearing. Just wanted to get that out of the way…YES, under most circumstances. If I tossed a couple strawberries in a blender, would you call it a smoothie? No. I think its smoothie-LIKE, but not a SMOOTHIE. Final answer: no, but kind of. Rest of the world: 35% yes, 65% no

#4 Is the moon just Earth’s pet rock?

This makes me think of Nate Bargatze when he says, “I mean…what are we doing?”But still, it’s a matter that must be discussed. Now that I think about it…YES! Why not? The Earth is just using a magnetic field to keep his pet rock close to him! YES! I love that question! 😂Rest of the world: 48% yes, 52% no

#5 Is a pop-tart a ravioli?

I’m not quite sure why this is up for debate; there’s a clear answer.After doing a little research, I found the Oxford Languages Dictionary definition of a ravioli, “Small pasta envelopes containing ground meat, cheese, or vegetables.”What do you think? NO. Be honest; a pop-tart is just a bunch of lab sugar.Rest of the world: 38% yes, 62% no

#6 Is a hot dog a sandwich?

I’ve asked 32 people this question. Interestingly, mainly only older people have said a hot dog is not a sandwich (and very logical youngsters). Some also said, “it depends if the bun is connected or not.” I’ll put my case this way; if I walked into a restaurant and saw a hot dog in the sandwich category, I would walk right out. I’ve always put hamburgers and hot dogs in their own little category; America. And also, who calls their sandwich ends a “bun”? If I said the word “bun” to you, you would think of two things; a hot dog and you-know-what 🤪. Regulatory bodies such as the USDA state that a hot dog is a sandwich, for lack of another category. And the definition of a sandwich is, “an item of food consisting of two pieces of bread with meat, cheese, or other filling between them.”BUT…my final answer; the USDA has it wrong. A hot dog only has one piece of bread sliced in half, meaning in my opinion, a hot dog is not a sandwich. Phew, I said it.Rest of the world: 49% yes, 51% no

#7 Is cereal a soup?

No. Absolutely not. In so many ways no. oh my gosh no. What…I mean…So many things say NO;

  1. It’s eaten for breakfast
  2. It’s not dense
  3. Only two ingredients
  4. Not warm (unless you’re a weirdo)
  5. No soup has MILK as the broth
  6. I mean…just NO

Rest of the world: 35% yes, 65% no

Thanks for reading! If you’ve got any controversial internet questions, drop them in the comments, and I’ll answer them next! Bye and GOODNIGHT!!! I’m headed to bed. (;
