Here’s to the first day of summer (it was yesterday...by the way)! Summer symbolizes growth and warmth, especially if you live in Texas. The flowers pop, buds blossom with color, and the chicks hatch out of their eggs for the first whiffs of earth.
It's a beautiful time to be alive and outside.
Summer also means sunscreen, cicadas informing you that it's hot outside, and mosquitoes. Here’s a little poem I composed about summer:
it’s hot and there’s no rain
I hate it but can’t explain
It makes one feel drowsy
though that excuse does seem lousy
But it burns me to the ground!
