Being wealthy and prosperous is never a bad thing.

But it's when you become spoiled that things come out of line.

It has some really negative effects on daily life. But what is being spoiled? According to the dictionary, being spoiled is, “Having a selfish or greedy character due to pampering.” Being spoiled results in two things:

  1. It leads you to not appreciate the things you have. If you are spoiled you have a much harder time appreciating even the simplest of things, for example, food and family.
  2. It leads to being upset. After all, how can you love the things gifted to you if you are indifferent to what you already have?

As communities continue to grow in wealth, the percentage of spoiled people also rises.

Being spoiled also can raise yourself to try to achieve impossible standards. This can make everyone upset. You, because the expectations are rarely met and never surpassed, and your peers, because you are trying to be way better than is expected of anybody.

After all, the simple toy delights the child because the child doesn’t know anything better. When you look at some things others have, instead of lifting one's spirits when we receive something simple and good, we get down because we don’t meet those impossible expectations.

While whining is a symptom for spoiledness, it's never a cure for anger. The statement is always, “More more more!”
