I got a running watch!

It’s the Garmin Forerunner 55; known for being budget-friendly, but also packed full of fancy features. After around 50 miles with it, here are my thoughts.

With two clicks of a button, you can track walking, running, biking, and just about any sport you can think of with maximum accuracy. It only weighs 37 grams, which is a feather while you’re running.

The promos all promised an advanced high-contrast screen for readability outdoors. And it works! It’s not bright by any means, but it simply doesn’t get washed out by sunlight.

The user-interface is surprisingly intuitive for its simple build. I didn’t even read the manual, but everything explained itself really well.

The app connection is great, and it sends each run over to Strava along with all key stats and a precise map of the run. The GPS is stellar!

It’s hard to find with downsides…

The price is normally $200, but we got it on sale for $130 (a great deal!) However, $200 feels a little steep for a watch. But then again, I’m no running-watch-price-expert, so don’t trust me.
It has taken some getting used to, and dies quicker than the promised “2 week battery life”, but both of those aren’t about the watch itself.

Overall, the watch is incredible, fancy, and super easy to use. It makes running even more fun!
