A few moments ago I finished The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Now I understand why many call it the most iconic book ever written.
The art form of writing is beautiful, especially when done well. The Lord of the Rings shows human nature in such a beautiful way. It articulates joy, sorrow, tranquility after tribulation, and the fleeting nature of humanity.
Art is art because it makes you think, wonder, and imagine. LOTR definitely does that!
There were parts that resonated with me, not only in the content, but also in the perfect illustration of life as it is…not through a lens of sensationalization (like so many movies/books are today).
I need to read it again and again the older I get. I think as we mature, we see new perspectives that we didn’t see last time. Our perspective shapes the interpretation of the book.
You should read it before you die. It’s glorious!!
