Maybe it’s only me, but…

Do you ever get randomly inspired at night? Oftentimes my best ideas come after I’ve finished school and seem to be worn down. It doesn’t seem to make sense that good ideas come in these weary hours…

Until you learn more.

The average person experiences a good deal of pressure during the day; a sort of heavy backpack with social expectations and school logic. But after a certain point, your mind is just too tired to care.
There are three regions of your brain that create new ideas: the hippocampus (pulls up memories), the prefrontal cortex (guides the planning and assembles the thoughts), and the Default Mode Network (orchestrates “daydreaming”). When you’re tired, your frontal cortex chills out, allowing you more space to think.

It gives your brain a chance to think about what it could do without the immediate consequences of having to do it.

Also, we teens could be inspired later due to circadian rhythm shifts that delay the release of sleep hormones until around 10PM.

It’s your brain’s freetime. Very cool.
